Drew @s1rdr3w Headley @CPGMHeadley
ELITE
These Elite quarterbacks are the ones who can carry your Fantasy Football Team
1. Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay Packers 1. Russell Wilson - Seattle Seahawks - Wilson finished as the QB1 last season and it wasn’t particularly close. Yes recency bias might be in effect but what this guy does with his legs makes him the ultimate dual threat quarterback. Rushing yards and touchdowns are big for fantasy quarterbacks so you want this guy on your team.
2. Russell Wilson - Seattle Seahawks 2. Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay Packers
3. Tom Brady - New England Patriots 3. Tom Brady - New England Patriots
SUPERS
Like the ELITE QBs they can carry your team but just aren’t as consistent due to scheme, age, lack of track record, or talent around them.
4. Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints 4. Deshaun Watson - Houston Texans - Before his injury, Watson was on pace for a historic offensive rookie of the year performance. Barring an injury setback, Watson will again light it up through the air and the ground. DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller are big play threats and Watson will be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
5. Cam Newton - Carolina Panthers 5. Cam Newton - Carolina Panthers - Don’t sleep on Cam.
6. Deshaun Watson - Houston Texans 6. Carson Wentz - Philadelphia Eagles
7. Carson Wentz - Philadelphia Eagles 7. Matt Ryan - Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan this high? Absolutely! I know he rubbed a lot of owners the wrong way last season after his 2016 MVP performance, but Ryan was in his first year with new coordinator Steve Sarkisian and the Falcons led the NFL in drop passes and had 5 passes go through receivers' hands to the other team. He will get back to playing great ball this season in Year 2 of Sark's offense.
8. Matthew Stafford - Detroit Lions 8. Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints
NEXT LEVEL PLAYERS
This level of Quarterback is on the cusp of the "Elite" & "Supers" tiers and can carry your team a few times per season.
9. Matt Ryan - Atlanta Falcons 9.(10) Kirk Cousins - Minnesota Vikings
10. Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh Steelers 10. (11) Matthew Stafford - Detroit Lions
11. (12) Kirk Cousins - Minnesota Vikings 11. (14) Andrew Luck - Indianapolis Colts - Fingers crossed we get to see the pre-injury Andrew Luck. All signs point to a bounce back, his ceiling can be as high as Top 5 QB.
12. (13) Philip Rivers - Los Angeles Chargers 12. (9) Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh Steelers - Say what you want about Roethlisberger but he still has Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. He might not be the most consistent quarterback week in and week out but he has the potential to carry your team to victory, especially when he plays at home. You may want to pair him with another quarterback and sit him when he goes on the road against tougher competition but he is a next level fantasy player.
13. Philip Rivers - Los Angeles Chargers
14. (12) Jared Goff - Los Angeles Rams
PROMISING
You have seen the potential or at the very least a glimpse.
13. (14) Jimmy Garoppolo - San Francisco 49ers 15. Jimmy Garoppolo - San Francisco 49ers
14. (15) Derek Carr - Oakland Raiders 16. Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs - I am high on Mahomes fantasy prospects and this has nothing to do with him being this great quarterback. He will struggle this season with turnovers and bad decisions but from a fantasy perspective he will put up good counting stats in Andy Reid’s offense as I foresee the Chiefs trailing trying to play catch up quite often.
STATUS QUO
You know what you are getting all-be-it nothing special.
15. (16) Alex Smith - Washington Redskins 17. (21) Derek Carr - Oakland Raiders - Carr is mastering Jon Gruden's offense based on all accounts and he has the weapons around him to have a bounce back season.
16. (11) Andrew Luck - Indianapolis Colts 18. (22) Eli Manning - New York Giants
17. (24) Jared Goff - Los Angeles Rams 19. (17) Alex Smith - Washington Redskins - What’s more Status Quo than Alex Smith. He balled out last season but he will regress back to the Alex Smith we all know.
18. (17) Marcus Mariota - Tennessee Titans
19. (18) Eli Manning - New York Giants
20 (19) Jameis Winston - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
COMPLEMENT
This set of Quaterbacks typically meet or are just shy of their projections.
21. (20) Tyrod Taylor - Cleveland Browns 20. (18) Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys
22. (21) Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys 21. (19) Jameis Winston - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jameis Jameis Jameis SMH I’m predicting the Buccaneers to struggle this season. Selling them all.
23. (22) Andy Dalton - Cincinnatti Bengals 22. (20) Marcus Mariota - Tennessee Titans - I know you guys all love Mariota but he is an average NFL quarterback. The Titans want to run the football so this depresses Mariota’s value.
WAIT AND SEE
It’s exactly what it sounds like... Just wanna see more...
24. (23) Mitch Trubisky - Chicage Bears 23. Case Keenum - Denver Broncos
24. Jared Goff - Los Angeles Rams 24. Mitch Trubisky - Chicage Bears - I get the Trubisky optimism. He has a new coach in Matt Nagy who has had success under Andy Reid with quarterbacks matching Trubisky’s skill set. The new additions of Allen Robinson, Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller are enticing. But new system + young quarterback = growing pains. I’ll pass.
25. Blake Bortles - Jacksonville Jaguars
26. Josh Rosen - Arizona Cardinals
27. (32) Sam Darnold - New York Jets
BEST OF THE REST
Replacement level veterans and rookie signal callers not expected to offer much value in 2018.
26. Josh McCown - New York Jets 28. (27) Andy Dalton - Cincinnatti Bengals
27. Ryan Tannehill - Miami Dolphins 29. (28) Ryan Tannehill - Miami Dolphins - Tannehill has the highest potential from the best of the rest tier. Adam Gase is a quarterback whisperer who got the best out of Jay Cutler. Tannehill has decent film and looked to be ascending before tearing his ACL last season.
28. Blake Bortles - Jacksonville Jaguars 30. Joe Flacco - Baltimore Ravens
29. Sam Bradford - Arizona Cardinals 31. Baker Mayfield - Cleveland Browns
30. Case Keenum - Denver Broncos 32. (NR) Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills
31. Joe Flacco - Baltimore Ravens
32. Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills
