Biggest question for each NFC Offense

Will the Cowboys let Tony Romo go?

Owner Jerry Jones has vowed to do the right thing for Tony Romo, so a trade to the Cleveland Browns is probably out of the question. All jokes aside, a trade to any team that Romo doesn’t feel comfortable with is probably not going to happen. The Cowboys will more than likely cut Romo.

Can the Giants improve their rushing attack?

What’s the best way to improve your running game? You guessed it, improve your offensive line. After the Giants spent big money last offseason on the defensive side of the ball, I foresee an offensive lineman signing in free agency and a selection in the draft. Getting a running back in the draft to pair with Paul Perkins should also go a long way to improving the run game.

How much money will the Redskins pay Kirk Cousins?

One of the biggest offseason questions looms in Washington. To pay or not to pay Kirk Cousins? If they decide to fork up the money, I expect it to be one of the largest contracts in NFL history. The Redskins have other options as well, franchise tagging Cousins for the second consecutive season or trading him for some draft picks. Update – Redskins placed franchise tag on Kirk Cousins

Will the Eagles put some playmakers around Carson Wentz?

This answer most certainly has to be a big YES. Wentz started the season strong due to the offensive game plan of getting the ball out of his hands quickly. As the NFL always does, defenses adjusted quickly which left Wentz without an answer on the perimeter. The Eagles need to add big play receivers on the outside.

What will the Packers do at the running back position?

Bringing back Eddie Lacy for the cheap might be an option for the Packers, but that won’t be enough as the Packers need someone dynamic to pair with Ty Montgomery. The draft is deep with game changing running backs so I expect the Packers to sure up that position.

Is Ameer Abdullah starter material?

The once promising second round pick in 2015 was thought of as the Lions next great running back. Abdullah’s elusiveness and game breaking abilities had many fans excited, however injuries and concerns over whether or not he can handle a full workload have depressed his value. I am a huge fan of Abdullah’s talent but this is setting up to be a make or break season for the third year pro.

Will the Vikings get Teddy Bridgewater back next season?

The saddest news of the 2016 season had to be Teddy Bridgewater’s catastrophic knee injury. After missing the entire season, Bridgewater’s 2017 season is still in doubt. The Vikings traded for Sam Bradford after the injury but we all know they need Bridgewater in order to make a playoff run.

Will the Bears re-sign Alshon Jeffery?

Franchise tagging free agent Jeffery for a second consecutive season would of cost the Bears $17.5 million. The Bears passed on that idea and will let Jeffery test free agency. After a suspension for performing enhancement drugs and showing up on the injury report every week, Jeffery’s marriage to the Bears looks to be on its last legs.

How different will the offense look with new OC Sark?

After blowing a Super Bowl victory, the Falcons now have to get pass the Super Bowl hangover with a whole new coaching staff. The Falcons fired their defensive coordinator and replaced Kyle Shanahan with new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. Shanahan was excellent in creating mismatches all over the field which leaves Sarkisian, a college guy with minimal NFL experience, having to fill some major shoes.

Can the Bucs put more playmakers around Jameis?

#GetJameisSomeWeapons. Last season it was all Mike Evans or nothing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have a lot of money and draft picks to change the trajectory of their offense. Getting Jameis weapons should be the priority in the offseason.

Will Mark Ingram ever get out of Sean Payton’s doghouse?

In my opinion the Saints could be a pretty decent football team if they committed to running the football. For starters it will give the offense balance but it will also help the defense by keeping them off the field. This brings me to the Saints best ball carrier, Mark Ingram. The relationship between head coach Sean Payton and Ingram seems off, which keeps Ingram on the sidelines more often than he should be. Get Ingram 250+ carries and I guarantee the Saints will be a better football team.

Can Cam bounce back after his Super Bowl hangover?

After a magical 15-1 season in 2015, the Panthers and star quarterback Cam Newton fell off in 2016. The defense did not play up to par but there were also some clear deficiencies in the Panthers’ offense. Newton looked uncomfortable in the pocket and he was beat up all season long. Newton will need to play somewhere close to his 2015 MVP form in order to get the Panthers back to the promise land.

Will the Seahawks finally prioritize their offensive line?

One of the most perplexing numbers of the 2016 season was how little money the Seahawks paid their offensive lineman. It was a disaster up front for the Hawks and they clearly need to address the position group this offseason. A lot of money went to the Legion of Boom and Russell Wilson but they need to protect Wilson in order to make a deep playoff run.

Is this Carson Palmer & Larry Fitz’s last season?

There were rumblings of a retirement for both Palmer and Fitzgerald after the 2016 season. Both opted to return to the Cardinals in 2017 but the organization knows that finding their replacements should be first and foremost.

Can Sean McVay turn around Jared Goff?

It was a terrible set of circumstances for rookie QB Jared Goff last season as he had no weapons, a below average offensive line and Jeff Fisher as his head coach. Goff didn’t get his opportunity until halfway through the season and when he did, it was a poor showing for the Rams QB. The Rams stacked their coaching staff with offensive minded guys who will work with and help Goff try to live up to expectations.

Does new Head Coach Kyle Shanahan choose a vet or rookie to start at quarterback?

New head coach Kyle Shanahan took some criticism for his play calling in the Falcons Super Bowl loss and now gets to coach the 49ers. It’s night and day from the situation he is coming from and the first order of business is to find a quarterback. The dilemma will be to draft a QB in a poor quarterback class or bring in a veteran to start.
