NFC East Update
Cowboys re-signed middle linebacker Rolando McClain to a one-year, $3 million contract with another $1 million available through incentives. McClain had a bounce back season last year after coming back from retirement stabilizing an improved Cowboys’ defense. McClain will man the middle for Dallas this season, allowing Sean Lee to kick outside to the WILL spot. But everything isn’t roses as McClain will face a likely suspension from the NFL after violating the NFL substance abuse policy. Add this to McClain’s late season head injuries the Cowboys still have questions at the linebacker position after losing both Justin Durant and Bruce Carter to free agency.
