As we continue our march towards the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the CPGM Front Office breaks down the prospects that comprise the tight end position group. With a couple of first round caliber talents and a slew of players at the position that have the potential to be true difference-makers and matchup nightmares; it’s a really good class. Unfortunately, the tight end position requires a great deal of analysis based on projections and inferences due to the pervasive misuse of players at the position at the collegiate level.
Nevertheless, this class of TEs could yield multiple gems and inject new life into the position at the pro level as the likes of Rob Gronkowski and Jordan Reed struggle to stay healthy; Greg Olsen and Delanie Walker no longer being in their respective primes; and future Hall of Famers Antonio Gates and Jason Witten playing perhaps their final season in the NFL. Frankly, Travis Kelce is arguably the standard at the position by default because he’s managed to stay healthy. But a new wave is coming and they are a talented albeit inconsistent group at times. So tune in and listen for the full breakdown via CPGM and don’t forget that you can download the CPGM Podcast on iTunes.
