Many talent evaluators don’t view the 2017 NFL Draft Class as being particularly deep along the defensive line (including edge rushers); and while the depth at defensive tackle, interior d-lineman, is a bit shallow the overall position group is deep; it goes on and on. In fact, there are so many intriguing prospects within the position group the CPGM Front Office failed to get to them all. So while you may not hear about Takkarist McKinley or Tyus Bowser in this particular CPGM Podcast installment, don’t fret, you will eventually. That being said, if your favorite NFL team is in the market for pass rushing help there is no shortage of that skill set in this draft. Problem is, pass rushers, particularly edge rushers will always be in high demand in today’s pass happy NFL; so there will be a run on these players come the 2017 NFL Draft. One of the biggest takeaways from Super Bowl 51 was that it behooves NFL Franchises to have waves and waves of defensive linemen, particularly those that can affect the passer. Teams may not be able to afford to simply let the draft come to them with respect to this precious commodity that is pass rushing talent. Instead, they may need to be aggressive in their approach if they hope to acquire one or two of these essential pieces to their respective defenses.
