New York Jets at Buffalo Bills, Thursday September 15th on CBS, NFL Network at 8:25 pm eastern.
This is a battle of 0-1 teams from the AFC East in the New York Jets v Buffalo Bills. I’m not gonna say that I am excited over this match-up but nevertheless this is a divisional square off and those games seem to be of the closer variety due to the familiarity between teams playing twice a year and at times as many as three times if a playoff match-up happens.
New York Jets: Last week the Jets ran for 152 yards and got to Andy Dalton 7 times but went 4 for 12 on 3rd down and although they caused 2 turnovers they gave 2 away themselves, one coming in the closing seconds of the game as they were driving down the field to get in position to kick a game winning field goal. As far as I’m concerned this is not an acceptable lost. You run for 150 yards that is supposed to be a win, PERIOD!!!!
Buffalo Bills: Looking back at the Bills at Ravens game it’s what I expected. A defensive, low scoring, “I don’t wanna watch football game.” Even on the plays that got the Bills in scoring position , the Charles Clay 33-yard catch and scamper and the scramble out the pocket by Tyrod Taylor, were plays that had Taylor running for his life, breaking tackles like he was a running back.
For you gamblers this is a pick’em for now and the Over/Under is 40.5.
(6) Houston Cougars (2-0) at Cincinnati Bearcats (2-0), Thursday September 15th at 7:30 pm eastern on ESPN Nippert Stadium Cincinnati, OH.
On the surface I’d say Houston all day, but when I look at the point spread its JUST -7.5 HOU at the moment. So I thought, “Is Greg Ward Jr. for Houston not playing due to that sore shoulder that had him miss last week’s game against Lamar?” NOPE , he’s good to go this week. SO WHAT IS IT!?! The Bearcats are a better team than last year and played Houston to a 33 – 30 lost a season ago. The Bearcats also have an up and coming Sophomore quarterback who is a duel threat much like Ward. This is going to be an entertaining and fun game to watch and one you will not want to miss.
Houston Cougars: As we all know Houston took it to Oklahoma during the first week of the season in Jerry’s World; with a 33 – 23 score and did what they are supposed to do last week against an inferior opponent in Lamar. Greg Ward is back ladies and gents and ready to roll. Right now he seems to be the best Quarterback in college football at the moment if you ask me. (Yes that includes DeShaun Watson)
Cincinnati Bearcats: Beating Purdue and UT Martin, the Bearcats are led by their quarterback Hayden Moore who has scored 7 touchdowns and thrown just 1 interception thus far this season. Two of those TDs have come on the ground.
For you gamblers the point spread is 7.5 Hou and the Over/Under is 64.5.
