The New Orleans Saints retain one of their own by re-signing former Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram to a respectable 4-year deal worth $16 million. This is a great keep for a Saints team that has major salary cap issues as Ingram showed what he is capable of last season when given a bigger workload. Stuck in a committee since being drafted in 2011, Ingram was given more carries last season and demonstrated his value rushing for 964 yards and 9 TDs while averaging 4.3 yards per carry. The Saints should continue to give Ingram the bulk of the carries going forward as he is their most talented back which should in-turn take some pressure off of Drew Brees and the passing game.
