A.J. Hawk released by Packers

NFC North Update

The Green Bay Packers released inside line backer A.J. Hawk. It was a good run as a Packer for Hawk but this decision was inevitable as Hawk has been a shell of his former-self over the last couple of years. He graded out by Pro Football Focus as a bottom ten inside line backer and is fresh off surgery. The Green Bay Packers save $3.5 million in the process and will use that extra cash to offer unrestricted free agent Randal Cobb a lucrative deal. Cobb is the number one priority this off-season of the Packers and the move to release Hawk was needed to free up cap space.
