Saturday, September 5, 2015 marked the day that NFL teams had to trim their rosters from 75 players to 53 players in preparation of the 2015 NFL Regular Season. Rosters have continued to change and will continue to evolve throughout the season but there have been some notable transactions through the Labor Day Weekend. Less than a month ago those very same rosters were 90 bodies deep. Here’s the aftermath. (Of particular note)

Cuts

  • Despite making the initial 53 ILB Jasper Brinkley has been released by the Cowboys. He was guaranteed $2 million after signing with the team in the Spring;
  • Former 2nd round pick Montee Ball was waived by the Broncos and has gone unclaimed;
  • 2015 4th round pick WR Vince Mayle was waived by the receiver needy Browns;
  • The Rams waived former starter QB Austin Davis;
  • RB Jonas Gray was waived by the Patriots and has gone unclaimed;
  • S Stevie Brown was released by the Giants;
