Bucs add George Johnson to D-Line

NFC South Update

The Bucs finally get their guy in DE George Johnson and a 2015 seventh-round pick from the Lions in exchange for a 2015 fifth-round pick. The Bucs add Johnson to their defensive line rotation by signing  the restricted free agent to a three-year, $9 million offer sheet last week. Detroit chose to match the offer and worked out a trade by moving up a couple rounds in the back end of the draft. Johnson is coming off a breakout 6-sack season with the Lions and will now join an extremely weak Tampa Bay edge-rushing group. Johnson, began his career with the Bucs in 2011. Look for the Bucs to add another edge rusher in the 2015 NFL draft.
