Chiefs cut Dwayne Bowe

AFC West Update

Once a budding star, Dwayne Bowe has been released by the Kansas City Chiefs. Mired in mediocrity for the past few seasons Bowe’s nearly $11 million cap number was too much for the cash strapped Chiefs to keep on the books. Alex Smith’s reluctance to push the ball down the field certainly hasn’t helped Bowe, but for the majority of his career he has been an underachiever. In 2014 he hit rock bottom failing to register a single touchdown catch. With the recent signing of Jeremy Maclin it was only a matter of time before Bowe was released. It’s difficult to say what Bowe’s market will be now that he is a free agent. There are plenty of wide receiver needy teams but the 2015 draft class is stacked at the position.
