AFC East Update
The Miami Dolphins have agreed to a deal with center Mike Pouncey on a five-year extension worth $45 million. The deal makes Pouncey the NFL’s highest paid center as he gets $22 million guaranteed with a $5 million signing bonus. With Pouncey’s $7.438 million 2015 salary added to his $45 million extension, he’s now signed through 2020 at a total value of $52.438 million over six years. The Dolphins inserted Pouncey at right guard after missing the first four games with injury and struggled mightily at his new position. With the departure of last year’s starting center Samson Satele, Pouncey will be back to his natural position for the 2015 season. He had been one of the better centers in the league through his first 3 seasons and will look to improve from a down year last season.
