The first pick of the 2004 NFL Draft, Eli Manning, has signed a four-year contract extension with the New York Giants. With fellow 1st round selections in 04′ Ben Roethlisberger and Phillip Rivers finalizing deals earlier in the calendar year it was simply a matter of time for Manning. The two time Super Bowl Champion’s extension is worth $84 million. The deal includes $65 million in guaranteed money and a “no trade” clause. Eli goes from a $17 million annual salary to a $21 million figure which is right in-line with Big Ben and Rivers. The Giants will undoubtedly lean heavily upon Eli and the offense to compete in the NFC East as they continue to re-build on defense.
