End of an Era…Colts won’t re-sign Reggie Wayne

AFC South Update

The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they will not re-sign one of the best to ever lace them up and future Hall of Famer Reggie Wayne. Wayne has spent his entire 14-year career with the Colts and boy was it a historic run, winning a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning and company in 2006. Wayne owns the Colts franchise record in games played (211) and wins (143) and is second to only Marvin Harrison in receptions (1,070), receiving yards (14,345), and receiving touchdowns (80). His receptions and receiving yards rank 7th and 8th respectively all-time in NFL history. Wayne’s route running and hands set him apart and he was seemingly always in the right spot. Not to mention the job he has done with his young counterparts specifically T.Y. Hilton, grooming him on and off the field. All that being said the writing was on the wall. Wayne had become a shell of his former self after suffering an ACL tear in 2013. Wayne now has the off-season to determine his future, if he hangs his cleats up his professionalism and respect for the game will truly be missed. Standing ovation goes out to Reggie Wayne (Headley’s favorite Hurricane of all-time).
