Exploiting Fantasy Football Matchups – Week 2

CPGM collaboration with @nostraballus Exploiting Fantasy Football Matchups in Week 2.

Fresh off of dominating the Cardinals defense for 429 yards, the Redskins offense gets another sweet matchup against the “Marshmallowy” Colts defense. The Colts can be taken advantage of through the air and the ground, therefore start all your Redskins.

The Falcons have given up the most receptions to the RB position 3 years in a row as their cover 3 defense lends itself to easy dump downs. Christian McCaffrey is an excellent play here against the Falcons with the added benefit of their defense being without 2 of their top defenders Deion Jones and Keanu Neal.

The emergence of the inconsistent Jared Cook is here to stay. After losing the reliable Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper on a milk carton, QB Derek Carr favorite pass catcher is the TE Cook. 9 receptions for 180 yards going up against a Broncos defense that made rookie TE Will Dissly eat for 105 yards and a TD is good money.

The Titans inability to stop the passing game in 2017 is nicely illustrated above but you can just go back to last year’s game against these same Texans to see that this is a excellent matchup to exploit. The Texans hung 57 points on the Titans in Week 4 as Deshaun Watson accounted for 5 touchdowns, Lamar Miller and Will Fuller had 2 touchdowns each, and DeAndre Hopkins had over 100 yards and a score.

The Cardinals defense gave up 182 yards rushing last week to the Redskins and now gets a matchup against Todd Gurley. I know you were already playing Gurley in season long leagues but it’s also a great idea to pay up for him in DFS.

After dropping 40 points on the Buccaneers defense last week and still losing, the Saints offense will have a chip on their shoulder to be more effective. We know the big names above but sleepers like Ted Ginn and Benjamin Watson are also good plays against a leaky Browns pass defense.

The Eagles offense are having their own struggles at the moment but the remedy might be facing a Buccaneers defense that hasn’t stop anyone for well over a year now. Nick Foles and company will look to have a big day against a Buccaneers defense that will be without their top 2 cornerbacks Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves.

The Lions ineffectiveness in running the football have led them to be a team with a quarterback and 3 receivers. They get a nice matchup against the 49ers secondary. Fire up Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay in a matchup that is looking like a potential shootout.

Hey the cat is out of the bag, attack the Chiefs defense each and every week. Although they pulled out a victory last week, the Chiefs defense gave up 541 total yards to the Chargers and quite frankly should’ve been more if it wasn’t for crucial drops. Big Ben at home is always the play as the Steelers should find it quite easy to move the ball up and down the field. Fire up the entire Steelers offense.

The Bills offensively are atrocious right now which lends themselves to giving up huge production to opposing offenses. The Chargers running backs are the lucky participants this week. Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler should run circles around the Bills run defense.
