Falcons cut ties with Shembo

NFC South Update

Following an arrest stemming from a felony animal cruelty charge the Atlanta Falcons have waived linebacker Prince Shembo according to Zach Klein of WBSTV Atlanta. The 2014 fourth round pick was expected to take on an expanded role under new head coach Dan Quinn after playing 347 snaps as a rookie but his days as a member of the Falcons are over. It’s alleged that Shembo kicked and killed the dog of his ex-girlfriend according to Atlanta Falcons’ beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter. Justin Durant, O’Brien Schofield and Brooks Reed will compete for the two starting outside linebacker positions. Shembo is now out of work and is likely to face stiff penalties from the league office.
