It’s Fantasy Football playoff push time. Get those Fantasy Football Week 10 lineups set!
Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 10
Start – Carson Palmer vs 49ers
The Cardinals offense and Carson Palmer had their best passing game of the season the last time we saw them throwing for 363 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers. It didn’t result in a victory but it was good enough for Palmer owners as the veteran quarterback has struggled throughout the season. This week he gets a 49ers defense that has been flat out terrible against the run and the pass. This should serve as a “get right” game for the Cardinals as they try to make a playoff push and get their vertical offense back on track. Put Palmer in your lineups, as a matter of fact get all your Cardinals in your lineup.
Dak Prescott vs Steelers
Jameis Winston vs Bears
Eli Manning vs Bengals
Sit – Kirk Cousins vs Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings defense has shown chinks in the armor the last two weeks losing to the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions. Kirk Cousins threw for 458 yards in the Redskins’ Week 8 tie against the Cincinnati Bengals. So why should you sit Cousins you may ask? The biggest reason is that their will be a huge void on the left side of the Redskins offensive line. Their best player and one of the best left tackles in the entire league Trent Williams will be serving a 4-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Everson Griffen and the Vikings D will be licking their chops as this game can get ugly in a hurry for Cousins. I expect a lot of passing attempts but that won’t be enough to put Cousins into fantasy consideration this week.
Start – Devontae Booker vs Saints
The fantasy community is down on Devontae Booker after he let them down the last two weeks rushing for a measly 76 yards on 29 carries. To add more bad news to Booker’s fantasy value their have been reports that Kapri Bibbs will get more work than Booker this week and potentially going forward. This may in fact happen but their is light at the end of the tunnel this week as he gets to face a porous New Orleans Saints defense. The Saints have given up the second most fantasy points to opposing running back this season and even if Booker splits the workload he should still have plenty of fantasy value. Fire up Booker as 10-15 touches is enough for a big fantasy day against the Saints.
Jay Ajayi vs Chargers
Jordan Howard vs Buccaneers
Darren Sproles vs Falcons
James White vs Seahawks
Christine Michael vs Patriots
I fully expected Christine Michael to run away with the starting running back spot with the injury to Thomas Rawls early in the season. Michael started out hot but has flamed out over the last 5 weeks averaging a mere 3.2 yards per carry. A lot can be attributed to the Seahawks dreadful offensive line or Russell Wilson not being a threat to run due to his ailments, however the coaching staff isn’t buying it and gave Michael 5 carries last week. Not only did he receive 5 carries but backup RB C.J. Prosise out snapped him 55% to 38%. Looks like the Seahawks are awaiting the return of Rawls and will be phasing out Michael.
Start – Tyrell Williams vs Dolphins
Tyrell Williams have been pretty good this season when he doesn’t face off against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have limited him to 4 catches for 32 yards in two games. Take those 2 games out and Williams is averaging over 80 yards per game. With starting receiver Travis Benjamin battling injury and questionable to play this week, their should be a lot of opportunities for Williams and he should get over 100 yards receiving. It helps when you have Phillip Rivers as your quarterback making Williams a must start this week against the Miami Dolphins.
Alshon Jeffrey vs Buccaneers
Emmanuel Sanders vs Saints
J.J. Nelson vs 49ers
Dontrelle Inman vs Dolphins
Julian Edelman vs Seahawks
We all expected Edelman to pick it up when Tom Brady returned from his 4-game suspension. Well we were wrong as Edelman has actually regressed and has not eclipsed 60 yards with Brady in the starting lineup. Simply too many mouths to feed in the Patriots lineup and other than Gronk you can’t start anyone else confidently. The Seahawks as we all know have one of the stickiest defenses so I would leave Edelman on your bench this week. Edelman did have a big game against the Seahawks in the Super Bowl two years ago but Tharold Simon is no longer on the Seahawks roster.
Start – Tyler Eifert vs Giants
I guess it’s safe to say that Tyler Eifert is back to full health after obliterating the Redskins for 9 catches and 102 yards in London. Andy Dalton surely missed his red zone threat earlier in the season and should look to get Eifert the ball early and often against the Giants. Eifert is an every week start going forward so get him in your lineup.
Antonio Gates vs Dolphins
Zach Miller vs Buccaneers
Austin Hooper vs Eagles
Julius Thomas vs Texans
Oh! Julius where have you been? Shout out Strud who boldly claimed Julius Thomas was the 27th best tight end in last year’s preseason fantasy rankings. Thomas has been a shell of his former self since signing a big contract with the Jaguars in the 2015 off-season. He saw only 2 targets last week even with the Jaguars in catch up mode and can’t be trusted any more for fantasy owners. Blake Bortles and the Jaguars offense has regressed in a major way and Thomas doesn’t seem to be a part of the offensive game plan.
Defense to stream
Carolina Panthers vs Chiefs
The Panthers defense is warming up over the last couple of weeks and will get a chance to play against the passing deficient Kansas City Chiefs without starting receiver Jeremy Maclin. The Chiefs will attempt to the run the ball early in this contest, but if they struggle it will be a long day for Alex Smith.
