Fantasy Football Waiver Wire (Add/Drop) – Week 11

Add – Case Keenum Minnesota Vikings

As all the Teddy Bridgewater fans including myself anticipate when will he get on the field, Case Keenum just went out there this past Sunday and racked up 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. Bridgewater will not get on the field anytime soon if Keenum continues to play well for the division leading Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings passing game is hot right now with Stefon Diggs coming back from an early season injury and the continued dominance of Adam Thielen. The next four game stretch is crucial in deciding if Keenum will be the guy going forward as he faces 4 straight teams over .500 (Rams, Lions, Panthers, Falcons). If he performs poorly by not taking care of the football then you will need to pivot as it will be #TeddyTime.

Drop – Andy Dalton Cincinnati Bengals

Running Backs

Add – Rod Smith Dallas Cowboys

Just like we got a chance to see the Dolphins running game without Jay Ajayi last week, we got a glimpse at the running back situation in Dallas without Ezekiel Elliott. Alfred Morris started the football game and outside of the Cowboys opening possession in the 2nd half, he struggled mightily to find open space behind the Cowboys offensive line. Yes, Tyron Smith missed the game but the team looked to be a bit more explosive with 3rd year back Rod Smith in the backfield. There are some better short term running back options on the waiver this week (see below) however Smith can be a catalyst for your fantasy teams around the fantasy playoffs. This is how I see it, the Cowboys will be playing from behind a bunch due to them missing star linebacker Sean Lee, which gives Smith more opportunities as he is the preferred choice on passing downs. It’s just a matter of time before the Cowboys lean on the more explosive Smith.

Drop – Darren McFadden Dallas Cowboys

Wide Receivers

Add – Corey Davis Tennessee Titans

The first receiver taken in the NFL Draft Corey Davis has battled injuries his entire rookie season causing him to be an afterthought in redraft leagues this season. Well, he is back and has taken over the wide receiver 1 duties from Rishard Matthews. Davis hasn’t quite cashed in a productive fantasy performance yet but he is on the verge of a breakout game due to his increased usage over the last 2 weeks. In Week 9 Davis played on 75% of the Titans snaps. In Week 10 that number increased to 86% while getting a team high 10 targets. Marcus Mariota and the coaching staff clearly want to utilize Davis as their lead receiver so don’t be late to the party, scoop him up immediately.

Drop – Allen Hurns Jacksonville Jaguars

Tight Ends

Add – Charles Clay Buffalo Bills

If you prefer to grab Greg Olsen off the waivers and wait for his return then that’s absolutely reasonable but if you’re looking for a tight end now that can come in and produce TE1 numbers then Charles Clay is your guy. Clay didn’t produce as such last week in his first game back from injury but he had a long reception called back on a holding call and the Bills offense were hardly on the field against the ball control New Orleans Saints offense. Look for Clay to regain his stature within an offense that loves to target their tight ends in the short to intermediate game. Clay can be a game changer for you at a position that is unreliable as it gets.
