Fantasy Football Waiver Wire (Add/Drop) – Week 8

Add – Josh McCown – New York Jets

Like CPGM Headley spoke of last week you lost Aaron Rodgers and you need a replacement, there are replacements believe it or not. You just have to wrap your head around NO ONE Rodgers NO ONE but this journeymen QB in Josh McCown is just the guy you are looking for!!! Last week McCown threw for 3 TDs and ran for 1. There seems to be an understanding of what the Jets wanna do on offense and McCown knows his weapons, one in particular in Austin Seferian- Jenkins who in his own right has look to come around. Remember the Jets were suppose to be tanking this season and on paper from an offensive stand point it looked like they were going to oblige that line of thinking. But that can’t be further from the truth. I believe Jets are getting the most of what they have on that side of the ball and McCown is a big part of that.

Other Players who deserve an Add

  • Matt Moore Miami Dolphins
  • Jacoby Brissett Indianapolis Colts

Drop – Trevor Seimian Denver Broncos

Running Backs

Add – Jalen Richard Oakland Raiders

Unless you were living under a rock you know that Marshawn Lynch is suspended a game for touching a ref on Thursday night. So, who better to take his place than Jalen Richard, a player who has a little giddy-up to his giddy-up. A change of pace to what Lynch brings to the table but nevertheless can get yards in a short space as well as push through some seams when given a crease. I also like the fact that he can catch out of the backfield and it looked as though the Raiders were using Richard in that role a bit in the last game. Knock on some wood now, it seems the Raiders may have found whatever was missing in their secret sauce on the offense with Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and squad. With Lynch out I believe they will lean on Richard to carry the load in the backfield.

Other Players who deserve an Add
  • Marlon Mack Indianapolis Colts
  • D’Onta Foreman Houston Texans
  • Latavius Murray Minnesota Vikings
  • Mike Tolbert Carolina Panthers

Drop – Adrian Peterson Arizona Cardinals

Wide Receivers

Add – Martavis Bryant

I am well aware of what Bryant wants and has said to his team and that he has missed a meeting to boot this past Monday. But this is what the Steelers do. They lose to the Bears after the anthem weekend and come out and wipe the floor with the Ravens. Then get their collective ass handed to them by the Jaguars because they chose to pass the ball the entire game when the week before the formula was run Le’Veon Bell until they couldn’t run him no more and it got them a win. Bryant will fall in line with this madness and I predict a big game from Bryant purely off of this pattern that is the Steelers. Dumb right? Just watch!!!

Other Players who deserve an Add
  • Kenny Stills Miami Dolphins
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Robby Anderson  New York Jets
  • Jermaine Kearse New York Jets
  • Marquise Goodwin San Francisco 49ers

Drop – All WR’s from the Cardinals ( Trade the future HOF Larry Fitzgerald)

Tight Ends

Add – O.J. Howard Tampa Bay Buccaneers

He was the 19th pick overall in the draft this past off-season and started slow like most TE’s due to the nuances that come with the position. But it looks as though the Bucs have figured out how they plan to use Howard with 2 TD’s this past week. It looks as though Howard will be used much like he was at Bama but at a more frequent pace. Howard’s routes seem to make defenders lose sight variety and they lead to huge chunk plays. There is plenty of star power on the perimeter in Tampa for defenses to worry about that isn’t named Howard so I can see his big plays continuing to happen.

Other Players who deserve an Add
  • George Kittle San Francisco 49ers
  • Zach Miller Chicago Bears
  • Ryan Griffen Houston Texans

Drop – Martellus Bennett Green Bay Packers
