Quarterbacks
Add – Brian Hoyer Chicago Bears
Alex Smith has a really great matchup this week against the New Orleans Saints, so if you are looking for a plug and play bye week replacement then he is your guy. However, Brian Hoyer is the guy to scoop up if you are growing tired of your QB situation and need someone long term. How many 300 yard games does Hoyer need to throw until fantasy owners take him seriously? Well, he has 4 straight 300 yard passing games with 0 interceptions and a 68.8 completion percentage. That completion percentage ranks third in the entire NFL as he has a great rapport with Zach Miller and Cameron Meredith in the short to intermediate passing game. In last week’s game Hoyer actually got his big play receiver Alshon Jeffrey more involved in the game which bodes well for his future fantasy success. Get Hoyer on your team, he is the best quarterback on the wire.
Other Players who deserve an Add
- Sam Bradford Minnesota Vikings
- Alex Smith Kansas City Chiefs
- Trevor Siemian Denver Broncos
Drop – Brock Osweiler Houston Texans
Running Backs
Add – Jay Ajayi Miami Dolphins
Decisions! Decisions! There are a plethora of backs who had great fantasy success last week. None greater than the 204 yard 2 touchdown explosion by Dolphins second year man Jay Ajayi. Head Coach Adam Gase stuck to his word by giving just one running back the majority of the carries and it worked in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’m sure no one in a 12 team league or under and pays attention to their lineups consistently had Ajayi in their lineup but 25 carries is 25 carries and he needs to be added if the Dolphins view him as the lead back on their roster. In a week where it’s slim pickings on the wire for running backs Ajayi is the guy to be added as he can potentially produce flex numbers going forward. Ajayi will be a risk but needs to be added.
Other Players who deserve an Add
- Devontae Booker Denver Broncos
- Jacquizz Rodgers Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Chris Ivory Jacksonville Jaguars
- Zach Zenner Detroit Lions
- Knile Davis Green Bay Packers
Drop – Orleans Darkwa New York Giants
Wide Receivers
Add – Kenny Britt L.A Rams
If you read my waiver wire post last week then you definitely know I was on the Cameron Meredith train before the masses and he needs to be added immediately. However, I will focus in on one of the players I was high on at the beginning of their career and looks to be in the midst of a comeback season, Kenny Britt. The big bodied size/speed combination product out of Rutgers career was derailed in Tennessee with injuries and inconsistencies. Not the guy he use to be Britt has revamped his career this season with the L.A. Rams and has managed at least 75 yards in four games including his 136 yard 2 TD performance on Sunday. Britt is currently on pace for over 1300 yards receiving and has staked claim as the number 1 receiver for the Rams. Yea I know it’s the Rams but they should be playing from behind in many games this season so 8 targets a game should start becoming the norm for Britt.
