AFC South Update
The Indianapolis Colts and free agent Frank Gore have agreed to a three-year deal worth $12 million with $7.5 million in guaranteed money. The Colts pull a coup by signing the running back when the expectation was for him to sign with the Eagles. In fact Gore and Philadelphia had a deal worked out in principle but a change of heart lands Gore in Indy. The 31-year-old Gore is a downhill runner with exceptional vision, pass catching and pass blocking prowess. The deal is a rather lucrative one to give to a back with 2,442 career carries and 10 seasons of wear and tear on his body. San Francisco loses their franchise leader in rushing yards but last year’s second-round pick, Carlos Hyde, appeared to be a capable replacement in spot duty for the veteran.
