Greg Jennings released by Vikings

NFC North Update

On the heels of their Mike Wallace acquisition, the Minnesota Vikings have released veteran wide receiver Greg Jennings. Jennings was set to count roughly $11 million against the cap and hasn’t had a 1,000 yard season since 2010. The six touchdowns he caught in 2014 were his most since 2011. Former Browns’ practice squad member, Charles Johnson, overtook both Jennings and Coradarelle Patterson atop the Vikings’ WR depth chart and considering the addition of Wallace, Patterson’s youth and upside and Jennings declining skill-set and price tag this move doesn’t come as a surprise. Jenning’s release does result in $6 million in dead cap space.
