Harry Douglas released by Falcons

NFC South Update

The Atlanta Falcons have been busy over the last 48 hours. On the heels of cutting Steven Jackson, the Falcons have released wide receiver Harry Douglas and offensive guard Justin Blalock saving $7.8 million in cap space. Douglas performed admirably whenever Julio Jones or Roddy White were sidelined due to injury but the addition of Devin Hester last season, a new offensive system and his cap number led to his release. Blalock has been a mainstay along the Falcons’ unimpressive offensive line for quite some time and simply doesn’t fit new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s zone blocking scheme.
