AFC South Update
With a busy off-season thus far the Jaguars saved some money against the cap by extending middle linebacker Paul Posluszny to a one-year extension which amounts to a new three-year contract worth $15 million. Prior to the extension, Posluszny was owed $15 million across the next two seasons. The Jags essentially added an additional year for free, although Posluszny can earn an additional $3 million via incentives. All in all this deal helps the Jaguars cap flexibility and makes Posluszny more reasonably priced. He’s owed $5 million annually, whereas he was owed $7.5 million per year on his old deal. The soon to be 31-year-old MLB had an injury riddled down year in 2014, he was placed on the injury reserved list with a torn pectoral muscle. In 2013 Posluszny was second in the NFL with 162 tackles.
