The Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints have agreed to a deal sending All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham and their 2015 fourth-round pick to Seattle for center Max Unger and the Seahawks 2015 first round pick (31st Overall). Wow!! What a huge deal for Seattle to acquire Graham who instantly improves the Seahawks’ passing game. On the flip side, CPGM has documented (extensively) the Saints’ cap woes which became the catalyst of this trade as Jimmy Graham signed a 4-year $40 million contract just last season. The annual cap hit Graham was carrying was one of a number of contracts that left the Saints $20 million over the cap at the start of the off-season. However, the move nets the Saints an additional first-round pick and a Pro Bowl offensive lineman as they shift toward what we expect to be more of a run-based, ball control offense in Drew Brees’ latter years.
