Le’Veon Bell suspended

AFC North Update

The NFL has handed down its suspension to Steelers’ running back Le’Veon Bell for his off the field DUI and marijuana arrest before the 2014 season. Bell will be suspended three games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy while also forfeiting his fourth week game check. Bell will be appealing the ruling in an effort to have the suspension shortened. He probably doesn’t have a case as the NFL’s new policy states first time DUI offenses are met with a two game ban and the extra game stems from Bell’s marijuana charge. The Steelers will have to lean on recently added DeAngelo Williams, Dri Archer, and Josh Harris to fill out the running back rotation while Bell is absent. Bell enjoyed his best season last year with 2215 total yards from scrimmage rushing for 1361 yards and 11 total TDs. Fantasy owners will now have to decide if Bell is worth a top 5 pick with him missing the first 3 games of the season.
