The Oakland Raiders’ starting running back, Latavius Murray, is dealing with a bout of turf toe and various ailments. Murray’s fantasy outlook varied widely entering the 2016 Fantasy Football season with the selection of DeAndre Washington during the 2016 NFL Draft and the emergence of Jalen Richard during the preseason. To date, all three backs have accounted for 80 carries this season: Murray (40), Washington (23) and Richard (17).
There’s a strong possibility that Murray doesn’t play in Week 5 or re-aggravates his assortment of injuries. Washington (three carries of 20+ yards) and Richard (75 yard rush TD) have been far and away more explosive then Murray (one carry of 20+ yards) with their respective touches and the Oakland backfield is already a full blown 3-headed committee. Assuming Murray, doesn’t suit up in Week 5 expect Washington and Richard to share the load in a 50/50 spilt against the San Diego Chargers, behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.
