Jared Allen

Panthers trade for Jared Allen

NFC South Update

Long time defensive end and recently converted outside linebacker Jared Allen is headed to he Carolina Panthers to play his customary defensive end position. As reported by Jay Glazer, the Chicago Bears have made the move for a conditional draft selection which is indicative of the schematic non-fit with Allen at OLB and his declining play. Early indications suggests that Allen will be used as a situational pass rusher which could very well jump start his production. Allen is the NFL’s active sack leader (134). However, after only registering 5.5 sacks in 2014 after seven consecutive seasons of 11.0 sacks or more, Allen has yet to record a sack in 2015.
