AFC West Update
In what could possibly be Peyton Manning’s last year in the NFL he has agreed to take a $4 million pay cut for the 2015 season. Manning’s salary goes from $19 million to $15 million and frees up necessary cap room to potentially sign his top weapon, WR Demaryius Thomas to a long-term deal. Thomas was franchise tagged earlier this week and currently holds a $12.823 cap figure. The window is not only closing on Manning considering his diminishing arm strength/health but the Broncos have been in a “win now” mode for the past several seasons and have yet to raise the Lombardi Trophy. If they don’t get it done in 2015, Denver Broncos’ football Czar, John Elway, may have to start from scratch by addressing the most difficult position to fill, the quarterback.
