Resuming our coverage (preview) of the 2018 NFL Draft Class the CPGM Front Office breaks down the tight end position. Tight end is one of, if not the most difficult position to make an immediate impact as a prospect transitions from the collegiate ranks to the professional game. It’s also one of the more challenging positions to evaluate considering how few college teams feature their tight ends in the passing game or even have a tight end for that matter. However, CPGM Headley and CPGM Drew have done yeoman’s work and have identified the prospects of note in this tight end preview.
Our tight end preview is proceeded by Headley’s “Word/Phrase of the Day” and Drew’s “Top 5 Headlines” including: our take on the moves a couple of Florida franchises have made and Deion Sanders‘ faux pas.
As we’ve done in our previous 2018 NFL Draft position previews we will discuss: methodology in evaluating tight ends, Drew and Headley’s Top 5 at the position (respectively), identify who is the most overrated/under-rated tight ends in the class, and share some thoughts on guys outside of the Top 5 at the position.
