Start/Sit – 2019 Fantasy Football – Week 10

Fantasy Football Start/Sit Lineup Decisions Week 10

By: Jarred David @ricco_3733

Week 9 is finished and in the books and now there are more Bye week migraines ahead in Week 10. At least we are almost done with them! Teams on Bye this week are Denver, Houston, Jacksonville, New England, Philadelphia, and Washington. For the most part, last week’s article was comparable to having a 20 in Blackjack and the dealer turning over 21. In other words: Brutal. I’ll own up to that and simply ask for a mulligan. Here is Week 10’s Start/Sit.

Quarterback Starts of the Week

Ryan Tannehill vs KC – First, keep in mind that there are a lot of Byes. Next, Patrick Mahomes has practiced without any nagging injury so the game script will likely force Tannehill to pass more. Also, rounding down, Tannehill’s standard PPR scoring fantasy points the past three weeks are 19, 19, 23. Definitely serviceable.

Josh Allen @ CLE – The Browns are currently in shambles. However, I’m going with my gut and think it’ll be a bit closer than what most think. Play Allen as a good Bye week fill in as a high-end QB2. His rushing ability always helps.

Honorable mention for Bye Week:  Kyler Murray @ TB

Quarterback Sits of the Week

Baker Mayfield vs BUF – I anticipate Nick Chubb keeping the Browns in this one because the Bills are allowing 111.6 yards per rushing on the ground. Otherwise, you can expect a subpar outing from Baker as the Bills pass defense is monstrous.

Mitch Trubisky vs DET– Detroit can be exploited in the passing game. However, when Mitch Trubisky is your quarterback, you run the ball a lot, as evidenced last week. Expect less attempts than the normal from the Bears as they try to win this one with their defense and David Montgomery.

Running Back Starts of the Week

Devin Singletary @ CLE – The Browns have the eighth worst run defense in the league, allowing a total of 1,130 rushing yards on the year so far (141.3). It looks as though the Bills will start relying on Singletary to carry the load going forward. Play Singletary with confidence.

Jaylen Samuels vs LAR – The Steelers will likely be without James Conner and Benny Snell. This opportunity is vast. Purely by volume alone, Samuels should be a low-end RB1 this week.

Honorable mention: Mark Ingram @ Cin; David Montgomery vs Det (Lions rush defense is very bad)

Running Back Sits of the Week

Devonta Freeman @ NO – New Orleans defense is dominate. There is no other way to put it. Freeman may be able to make up for what should be another lackluster game on the ground with more receptions. Sean Payton will be ready. Even in a Bye week, there are better options than Freeman’s risky RB3 play.

LeSean McCoy/Damien Williams @ Ten – Don’t let Williams breakout run trick you into being a believer. The Titans defensive front and linebackers are very stout. There may be FLEX value with Williams at best, but I’m not seeing it here.

Wide Receiver Starts of the Week

Golden Tate @ NYJ – Funny typing a Giants player “at” the Jets. With Evan Engram already ruled out, Sterling Shepard possibly headed for IR due to concussion, and the Jets placing Trumaine Johnson on IR this week, Tate will have another opportunity to shine this week by volume if nothing else. He’s been targeted 27 times the past 3 weeks. Fire him up as a floor/volume WR2.

Zach Pascal vs MIA – Pascal has filled in nicely for T.Y. Hilton. With Xavien Howard on IR, Pascal’s opportunities couldn’t be better this week. Start him as a high upside WR3.

Honorable Mentions: Devante Parker @ IND – Even with Preston Williams, Parker has gone 24/15/161/2 his last three games. He’s worthy of FLEX consideration.

Alex Erickson vs Bal – 27/18/281 his last three games – Great for PPR

Wide Receiver Sits of the Week

Tyler Boyd vs BAL – I am anticipating Marlon Humphrey shadowing Boyd, which should create more opportunities for Tate and Erickson. With Ryan Finley to start under center, no one knows for sure which wideout will have the most value. That’s a good enough reason for me to not take the chance on Boyd.

Juju Smith-Schuster vs LAR – It’s not a complete shock to put him here. Juju’s juju hasn’t been good, as he has gone an abysmal 17/9/126/1 the past three games. Without Ben, the void is noticeable with Juju. Even though he plays out of the slot, I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach McVay has Jalen Ramsey shadowing Juju and force the Steelers to go elsewhere. If that’s the case, I put Juju at a high-end WR3 at best.

Tight End Start of the Week

Rhett Ellison @ NYJ – This is by no means a strong recommendation. Bearing that in mind involving a scarce position with Byes aloof, Evan Engram is out and Ellison will get the start. Stream him with low expectations with hopes for a surprise.

Mike Gesicki @ IND – Miami doesn’t have a rushing attack. That means Gesicki will have plenty of opportunities in a game where Miami will likely be playing from behind and Preston Williams injured. I would take this streamer with more confidence knowing Gesicki came off a career game last week, however you want to interpret that.

Honorable mention – Jonnu Smith vs KC – I didn’t include him above because he is likely already owned. If he isn’t, this is your best option of the three.

Tight End Sit of the Week

T.J. Hockenson @ CHI – The rookie has flashed his talent this year in some games but isn’t quite there yet. With Jones, Golladay, and Amendola absorbing most of the targets, Hockenson may only be as good as the 4th option in the pecking order as he continues to develop.

Defense Starts of the Week

BAL DST @ CIN – The Ravens will be ready to “welcome” Ryan Findley to the NFL.

IND DST vs MIA – Picking on Miami again, as I’ve promised you would happen. This may be a weekly input and I’m not sorry.

Defense Sits of the Week

TEN DST vs KC – Mahomes is back and is more excited than a kid in a toy store. Unless you want to score in the negatives, bench Tennessee this week. Only way this will work is if Mahomes’ injury resurfaces.
