Steelers extend Roethlisberger

AFC North Update

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to a 5-year extension worth up to $108 million. Big Ben’s contract was set to expire after the 2015 season, but the Steelers are set at quarterback (barring injury) for the next half decade. Roethlisberger typically isn’t regarded as an elite quarterback like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers but with two championships to his credit and coming off the best season of his career 4,952/32/9 he certainly deserves to be in the conversation. The Steelers are loaded on offense with the likes of Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Heath Miller and Le’Veon Bell led by trigger man Ben Roethlisberger. If Pittsburgh can re-tool their secondary they should be able to build on their AFC North Title last season.
