Steelers re-sign Harrison

AFC North Update

The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed 37-year-old James Harrison to a two-year $2.75 million deal. An injury depleted Steelers’ defense turned to Harrison less than a month after retiring in order to provide depth to an ailing linebacker corps. However, Harrison was surprisingly effective as a situational pass rusher for the Steelers last season totaling 45 tackles and 5.5 sacks. With the retirement of Jason Worilds, the lack of production from Jarvis Jones to date, and a new contract, Harrison may be called upon to be more than a pass rushing specialist in 2015.
