Stevie Johnson signs with Chargers

AFC West Update

Former 7th round gem “Why so serious?” Stevie Johnson has agreed to terms with the San Diego Chargers for three years, $10.5 million. Still only 28, Johnson is a great pick up for the Chargers as he can play inside or outside the numbers while demonstrating above average route running and possessing solid hands. Johnson is eerily similar to his new teammate Keenan Allen as both receivers can easily beat man-to-man coverage with their quickness, despite lacking top-end speed. Stevie isn’t too far removed from three straight seasons of at least 1,000 yards receiving in Buffalo from 2010 to 2012 and should be a welcomed upgrade to Malcolm Floyd as far as Phillip Rivers is concerned.
