Keenan Allen is thriving again this year with Gordon out and is swimming in targets from Rivers. Owners are just hoping he remains healthy this season like his two previous years. Welcome to the 2019 NFL season Mike Evans! Expect the good and the bad with Evans as Winston is tossing him the ball and week 3 shows why Evans was drafted so high, hope you all bought low on him when you had the chance.
Christian Kirk continues to silently show up on the targets leaders list. With targets comes production, he could be a sneaky buy low guy in the coming weeks as byes hit. Preston Williams took full advantage of garbage time with the Dolphins, he and Josh Rosen will have plenty of it this season. Josh Gordon’s 11 targets suggests he will have WR2 value now that Antonio Brown has left the building. His teammate, Julian Edelman, also making the top targets list for week 3. All of Brady’s receivers should be owned as they have scored at least 30 points in every game this season.
Top 12 Touch Leaders
Player | Team | Week 3 Touches |
T1. Christian McCaffrey | Panthers | 27 |
T1. Nick Chubb | Browns | 27 |
T3. Phillip Lindsay | Broncos | 25 |
T3. Alvin Kamara | Saints | 25 |
5. Le’Veon Bell | Jets | 22 |
T6. Kerryon Johnson | Lions | 21 |
T6. Ezekiel Elliott | Cowboys | 21 |
T6. Leonard Fournette | Jaguars | 21 |
T9. Dalvin Cook | Vikings | 20 |
T9. Mark Ingram | Ravens | 20 |
T11. Devonta Freeman | Falcons | 19 |
T11. Royce Freeman | Broncos | 19 |
With Barkley going down this week, McCaffrey becomes the clear cut #1 fantasy player and the touches back it up. Chubb seems to be the only consistent player in Cleveland. Until Kareem Hunt comes back, Chubb still has RB1 value. Lindsay had himself a day as the Broncos wanted to feed their running backs the ball against Green Bay. Unfortunately for Lindsay owners, Freeman got 19 touches and the backfield still looks to be a time share. Time to sell high on Lindsay. Surprising enough, Kerryon only got one reception out of his 21 touches. If he’s going to be a RB1 this year, he needs to get more work in the passing game.
The Ravens have been moving the ball effectively up and down the field which should give plenty of red zone opportunities to Mark Ingram. With 3 scores this week, Ingram solidified himself as a RB1. Devonta Freeman finally got enough touches to be on the list this week, but with Atlanta still trying to find a groove on offense outside of Julio, Freeman could be a sell high candidate. There’s not many running backs who can succeed behind Atlanta’s offensive line.
Top 12 Target Leaders that may still be available in your leagues
Player | Team | Week 3 Targets |
T1. Nelson Agholor | Eagles | 12 |
T1. Preston Williams | Dolphins | 12 |
T3. Auden Tate | Bengals | 10 |
T3. Marquez Valdes-Scantling | Packers | 10 |
5. Adam Humphries | Titans | 9 |
T6. Phillip Dorsett | Patriots | 7 |
T6. Jakeem Grant | Dolpins | 7 |
T6. Mack Hollins | Eagles | 7 |
T6. Will Dissly | Seahwaks | 7 |
T6. Rex Burkhead | Patriots | 7 |
T11. Braxton Berrios | Jets | 6 |
T11. Jaron Brown | Seahawks | 6 |
T11. Diontae Johnson | Steelers | 6 |
T11. DeVante Parker | Dolphins | 6 |
T11. Mohamed Sanu | Falcons | 6 |
Agholor got a larger piece of the target share with DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery out and capitalized with two scores. On a short week, it might be act two of the Nelson Agholor show. Valdes-Scantling should be owned in all leagues as Aaron Rodgers’ potential second option. Dorsett’s only dud game this year came when Antonio Brown was with the team being force fed targets. Brady seems to be chucking the ball this year which gives Dorsett value for the season.
Will Dissly should be a top waiver option for TE needy teams. Only Mike Ditka has had a better seven game start to his career at the position. Burkhead makes the top waiver targets list with the help of James White not being in town, but White should be back with the team in week 4 which devalues Burkhead’s stock a bit.
Top 12 Touch Leaders that may still be available in your leagues
Player | Team | Week 3 Touches |
1. Rex Burkhead | Patriots | 17 |
2. Tony Pollard | Cowboys | 16 |
3. Ronald Jones | Buccaneers | 15 |
T4. Darrel Williams | Chiefs | 14 |
T4. Jamaal Williams | Packers | 14 |
T6. Alexander Mattison | Vikings | 12 |
T6. Raheem Mostert | 49ers | 12 |
8. T.J. Yeldon | Bills | 10 |
T9. Kalen Ballage | Dolphins | 9 |
T9. Gus Edwards | Ravens | 9 |
T9. Justin Jackson | Chargers | 9 |
T9. C.J. Prosise | Seahawks | 9 |
Pollard and Mattison got garbage time work in their games and showed why they are must own handcuffs. Ronald Jones was the most useful Tampa Bay running back this week, but that doesn’t mean much for fantasy as he and Peyton Barber should be on everyone’s benches. Darrel Willams showed that the starting Chiefs running back position is extremely valuable. McCoy might be back in week 4 so the Darrel Williams hype might be short lived.
Jamaal Williams received 14 touches in week 3 and Aaron Jones owners are screaming that their back didn’t get more work. Jamaal will be more of a headache than a fantasy relevant player this year. Mostert gets another 12 touches this week before hitting his bye. His owners are keeping an eye on Tevin Coleman’s participation before week 5 to see if Mostert will continue to get touches or hit the waivers again.
