AFC South Update
The Houston Texans re-signed CB Kareem Jackson to a four-year, $34 million contract with $20 million guaranteed. Free agent CB Byron Maxwell is probably smiling ear to ear when seeing how much the Texans delved out for Jackson, a middle of the road player who is talented but not an elite cornerback. The market is now set for the cornerback position which many teams will overpay for in an effort to stifle the opposition in what is a pass first league. What figured to be a relatively shallow free agent cornerback class continues to shrink with the re-signing of Jackson. Unfortunately for cornerback needy teams, this year’s draft class isn’t deep either.
